911 2.7 RS Replica. (1988)

£139,995

2.7 RS Replica built on and around a 911 3.2 Carrera Coupe. First registered 22/06/1988 and supplied new by Charles Follett, the then official Porsche Main Agent for East London.

Finished in the period correct colour Aubergine with Black extended leather to dashboard/doorcards and Black leather Recaro Sport Topline seats over salt and pepper carpets.

The commissioned brief, executed by our friends at Jaz / Sportwagen in 2011, was to combine pre-impact bumper aesthetics with the comparative refinement and useability of a late 1980’s, G50 Gearbox, Carrera. The brief was executed without compromise and with a disregard for cost. Indeed, since 2011, well in excess of £100,000 has been invested in this car. The combination of air conditioning, bluetooth telephone preparation, Satellite Navigation, electric power steering, and comfort, heated, cooled, and bespoke configured leather Recaro Bucket seats, makes for an infinitely usable and pleasurable driving experience and a car that can be both admired, and more importantly, used over distance in comfort but without detachment.

The car is presented in exceptional/showroom condition throughout. The paintwork and interior are exquisite. Metal work has been carried out to exacting standards by Sportwagen with the necessary ‘Long bonnet conversion’ in full steel carried out using genuine Porsche OEM supplied panels…in addition to a genuine factory full-length steel bonnet an authentic look has been achieved by replacing the front wings, the front luggage compartment slam panel, the rear bumper (touring spec), the front bumper, the rear engine lid with ducktail and the lower side sills (touring spec).

The engine was fully stripped and rebuilt using ‘fast-road’ Cams and competition valve springs. All engine tinware was removed and powder coated with various engine bay components plated and detailed. The car runs RS style stainless steel heat exchanges and a stainless rear silencer.

The gearbox was stripped, fettled and fitted with a limited-slip differential .

As recently as December 2021 the car benefitted from a full suspension refresh, new brakes, handbrake shoes, turbo tie-rods, and a full geometry set-up.

Supplied with full service history and a huge file of supporting invoices. A unique car, a unique opportunity and one of the most successful interpretations and implementations of a brief that we’ve ever seen. We’ve tried really hard to fault this car and can’t. Special is the word! Detailed interior images to follow.
