930 Turbo Coupe (1979)
£139,995
Exceptional 930 Turbo Coupe. 4-speed manual transmission. First registered 11/01/1979. Finished in Silver metallic with full Black leather interior. A well-known 930 Turbo amongst enthusiasts and previously owned by Phillip Tyrell the Service Manager of 20 years for AFN Isleworth official Porsche dealership. Supported by an expansive and detailed service history complete with multiple files of supporting invoices in addition to the original service pack/book and manuals.
We supplied the car to the previous owner back in 2018 but we’ve known the car for a number of years during a period when it was supplied by our friends at Paragon Porsche.
The bodywork and interior are in truly excellent condition. The 16″ Fuchs alloys are unmarked. Period correct trumpet-style headlamp washer jets adorn the front bumper. Similarly the original steering wheel, seats, tape cassette player, and tape cassette storage remain. What we particularly like about this one is the factory delete sunroof making the car in this condition, at this mileage, and with the associated provenance and pedigree something of a ‘one-off’ and a solid investment.
The car was featured on the front cover of GT Porsche Magazine. (July 2012 Edition) under the banner “911 Turbo. The Porsche that defined a generation of 911s”. A 9-page article featuring the car follows later in the publication.
With the vast majority of these early turbos well past their sell-by date and suffering from significant structural and mechanical issues this car really is a breath of fresh air and unlike so many, it actually drives well too! The good ones are a delight on and off-boost and we’d put this up there as one of the nicest 4-speeds we’ve driven. The engine feels strong, the ride compliant, and the gearbox, so often a let-down, tight.
One of the most beautiful and Iconic 911’s to ever leave the factory. Stunning in this colour scheme and enhanced more than most models by the factory sunroof omission. A top tier 930 Turbo at a sensible price. Detailed images to follow.
