Our 964 RS restoration is nearing completion so we decided to give it a trip out to the 911UK Fairmile event in Cobham held every 3rd Wednesday during the summer months.

As always a great selection of cars, we bumped into Bob from Autobody Technics in Slough who painted the RS so had a chat about the whole process.

Driving an Aston Martin V8 Vantage recreation from 1977. We normally sell and service Porsches but every now and again we get involved with other marques. We sold the owner of this car a Porsche and helped him move it on to a new owner.

The original British muscle car, as British as a Bulldog and with pure class and pedigree running through its veins. A rare sight on the road today rarer still in this condition. Not just beautiful bodywork but with a service history to die for with some of the Aston Martin world's most revered specialists.

A real treat to give it a test drive to make sure all is well before the new owner takes delivery.

In 2006 & 2007 Maxi Jazz raced this 997 GT3 Cup car in the Porsche Carrera Cup championship. It was run by Redline Racing at the time. We bought the car in 2008. It did a couple of track days but was never raced. We've had the car in storage taking it to the occasional show and exhibition, it's wearing CCTV42 livery from a security show in Birmingham several years ago.

The 997 GT3 Cup car was factory built to go racing. Porsche are one of the few manufacturers who sell bespoke race cars alongside road cars. This model featured a sequential gearbox, blade torsion bars and a host of race features such as built in air jacks and centre lock wheels.

As a piece of Porsche history it makes a loud and assertive statement but it can also be used in anger, either on track days where you don't suffer the compromise of using a road car but instead enjoy the full potential of the 997 model Porsche. It can also still be raced in a number of series.

As the Porsche GT3 Cup car starts to enter the realms of historic racing it offers a competitive but also most importantly safe platform in which to compete. The car was designed from the outset to go racing, just take a look at the roll cages in these cars, they are a work of engineering supremacy. Not just roll protection but also side impact protection as well.

A true petrol head Maxi Jazz is of course best remembered as a legendary artist in the world of electronic / dance music. He was the very definition of cool. The quietest voice making the most noise.

A quick snapshot of the £200m Uxbridge Moor substation / Iver Substation extension project currently under construction. Filmed February 2026. When completed this will help support power requirements in the area including several data centers both planned and already operational.

Rusty brake lines are a common problem on the 997 model Porsche 911. We take a look at the most difficult brake line to change which goes over the engine and gearbox. How do you replace it? Do you have to remove the engine? What other jobs are worth doing at the same time?

One of only 14 UK right hand drive examples sold and arguably one of the best looking Porsches ever produced. A modern classic with great handling and creature comforts like power steering and ABS brakes.

A worthy addition to any Porsche collection

Finally we get the engine in our Porsche 964 RS. What started out as a bit of a refresh has taken us from engine shop to body shop and its now back in the workshop.

It's been 19 years since the car had its engine in, we lent it to a fellow competitor in the 2007 Silverstone 24 hour race on the promise it would be rebuilt. Never totally satisfied we didn't re fit it with the intention of getting the job done properly ourselves. Today we turned the key, would it start?
