911 3.2 Carrera CS (1988)
£173,995
911 3.2 Carrera CS. First registered 01/04/1988. E-Registration. 1 of 53 UK RHD examples. 1 of 340 units Worldwide. Supplied originally by Charles Follett London. One of the better known 3.2 Clubsports having been owned and cherished for 20 years by well known British Racing Driver, Mike Wilds. (F1 and Le mans among his many achievements). The car is supported by a full and complete service history file accompanying the original service pack, service book and all manuals. The leather bound service invoice folder is significant and the car presents in truly excellent condition throughout.
Developed as a lightweight version of the standard 3.2 Carrera, the manufacturer was able to shed a not insignificant 117kg of weight. The cumulative benefit of a number of model specific changes made to the car with the omission of the following:-
- Automatic heating regulation
- Additional blower and switch
- passenger sun visor
- Clothes hooks
- Lid tops for door bin storage
- Rear seats and centre holder
- rear and side wall trim panels
- Rear seat belts
- Simplified wiring harness
- Rear key plate with bracket
- Leather interior
- Insulation material excluding engine and roof liner insulation
- Carrera badge to rear end
- PVC undercoating (only seam sealing and underside waxed)
- Carbon canister
- Central locking
- Electric windows
- Deep pile carpets
- Some audio equipment
- Engine and front luggage compartment lights
- front fog lamps and associated switch
- smaller diameter starter motor leads
To further enhance performance and driving experience and in conjunction with the aforementioned weight reduction the Clubsport engine had different intake valves and a different DME control raising the max permissible engine speed from 6250rpm on the standard Carrera to 6840rpm. The engine was blueprinted whilst the crankcase and cylinder heads were marked with ‘SP’. A more responsive and ‘peppy’ engine, the result.

One of the rarer and more special cars to leave the factory in the 1980’s. Incredible pedigree as a model and as a specific car. Any external stickers on the car have been left on as a nod to Mike. He added them to the car and they’re relevant to him. These can easily be removed if required. The underside of the bonnet is signed by both Mike Wilds and Derek Bell. The latter won’t be removed!!!
